As far as modifications go, you have standard magazines, large magazines, and quick eject versions of both standard and long magazines. If you don't feel like buying or finding one, there is now a safe in the players home from before the war that contains the gun. It can be bought from vendors, or found on the corpses of raiders, Gunners, and various other enemies.
